Many of our consumers enjoy expressing themselves in artistic and creative ways. Some make jewelry, do needlework, draw, paint, or take photographs. We encourage their talents and interests in this area whenever possible, as we believe it is our responsibility to help each of them reach their highest potential.
One of the ways we foster this growth and development is through our Off-Site Day Habilitation (OSDH) program. Activities include cake decorating, quilting, building birdhouses, and painting pottery. (The program also has activities such as bowling, line dancing, bingo, and shopping. For a complete list of monthly activities, click on the Calendar of Events tab at the top of the page.)
Other opportunities for artistic development include annual theatre productions through Project Stage Light, and the "First Friday" Art Show, hosted by Broadway Prescription Shop last year. The art show provided a rare opportunity for some of our talented consumers to display their arts and crafts in the community.
