Relay for Life

Support “The Regency Gang” in Marble Hill as they participate in the Relay for Life on May 4th at Twin City Park. The team is working hard to raise funds to donate to the American Cancer Society.

While they have participated in the walk before, this year’s participation is in memory of Tina, a former resident, who lost her battle to cancer last year and in honor of Doug, a current resident, who is a 10-year survivor.

The Regency Gang has several fundraising ideas, such as the lavender quilt they are making, which will be raffled off once completed. The color lavender was chosen because it is representative of all forms of cancer.

Unlike many New Year’s resolutions that are pushed aside after several weeks, numerous staff and employees at VIP made commitments to start making exercise an everyday part of life and stuck to those plans. Some of those staff and employees have even reaped the benefits of exercise by losing weight.

“I dropped 10 pounds already,” said Teri, a Cape workshop employee, after five weeks on a new exercise program.
